India Hikes Gold Import duty from 10% to 15%
The basic custom duty on gold earlier was 7.5% and now it will be 12.5%. Along with the agricultural infrastructural development cess of 2.5%, the effective gold customs duty will be 15%. As per India Import Data there has been a sudden surge in imports of gold.
